Operating plants Brazil Photovoltaic energy
Iberdrola's subsidiary in Brazil, Neoenergia, is already operating the Luzia solar plant, the first it has installed in this South American country. It has 228,000 photovoltaic s with a total installed capacity of 149.3 MWp.

Planta fotovoltaica Luzia cg1j

Iberdrola continues to renewable energies, and in this case Neoenergia has built a new photovoltaic plant in Brazil. This new installation includes 228,000 solar s and can supply more than 100,000 homes in this South American country.
The photovoltaic plant is also the company's first for centralised photovoltaic generation. The entire output of the plant will be used for the Free Contracting Environment (ACL).
Neoenergia Renewable Complex n2156
The photovoltaic plant s the Chafariz wind farm in what is known as the Neoenergia Renewable Complex (the name given to the combination of the Chafariz wind farm and the Luzia photovoltaic plant).
This complex includes the Luzia photovoltaic plant and the 15 wind farms that make up Chafariz to reach a total installed capacity of over 600 MW. The aim of this large installation is to avoid the emission of more than 100,000 tones of CO2 per year.
In addition to construction, the project has given a socio-economic boost to the area. More than 680 hours of training have been provided, enabling 170 people to be trained as masons, carpenters and blacksmiths, while another 150 have been trained in the assembly of metal structures. In additión, of the 3,600 jobs, 40 % have been filled by local workers.
Iberdrola, world leader in renewable energies 5ev2h
At Iberdrola, we dare committed to renewable energy more than two decades ago as a fundamental pillar on which to build our safe, clean and competitive business model. Thanks to this vision, we are today world leaders in renewables, reaching 44,675 MW of clean energy in operation at the end of the first quarter of 2025.
This commitment is reflected in our Strategic Plan, in which we will allocate €15.5bn gross to renewables. More than half of this amount is focused on offshore wind in the US, UK, and ; 28% on onshore wind and 18% on solar.
